Does the cast iron body heat up or is the heat just via the fan mechanism through front of the fire?

The fan heater convects the heat forward and whilst the cast iron around the fan heater would get a little warm we wouldn't suggest it would provide much radiant heat. The heat comes from the 2kW fan heater.
