Frequently Asked Questions
What are Stovax wood burners made from? Many of the log burners made by Stovax are built from either cast iron or steel, or a mixture of both materials. The malleability of cast iron allows it to be moulded into a variety of different designs and it allows for intricate and elegant details. A cast iron stove will also retain the heat from your fire long after it has extinguished.
Can I burn coal in a Stovax wood burner?Stovax have a range of multi-fuel stoves which are supplied with a solid fuel grate and ash pan that allows the use of authorised coal. Only anthracite coal or smokeless coal should be used in multi-fuel stoves; your local coal merchant should be able to offer you further advice to help you select the right fuel for your Stovax wood burner.
Where Are Stovax Stoves Made?Stovax produces British-made stoves from their plant in Exeter, Devon. They are the UK's largest distributor of wood-burning stoves & electric fires and have been an industry leader for over 40 years.
